The 6.4 liters of Hemi sit a bit unusual under the hood of the Grand Cherokee SRT. Still, having an SUV that’s motivated by a muscle car engine is a bit of a dream come true. For one thing, the soundtrack generated by the natural aspiration storm going on in here is all the music you’ll ever need.
The aforementioned Hemi is matched with some serious stopping power. Up front, this comes from 15-inch discs and the six-piston Brembo calipers you see here. The rear axle received 13.8-inch rotors with four-piston Brembo grabbers. Oh and this unusual wheel design is called “Spider Monkey”.
You only need a few moments with the Grand Cherokee SRT to realise that this car is just as badass as it looks. Seriosuly, its appearance should be taken as a kind warning by the other drivers. Don’t worry though, this is also a safe car. That radar for the active cruise control, the one you see above, is only a small part of its active safety arsenal.
This steering wheel didn’t get its shape by accident. SRT put quite some effort into researching on the topic of the perfect wheel and this is what they came up with. The thing may look and feel a little large at first, but once you’re on the move, you’ll notice its ergonomics are perfect.
Whether you’re planning to follow the canyon road’s accession or drive slowly in order to find a way into the forest, this creature is more than happy to follow your directions. You can see its story in colours in the Full HD photo gallery of our 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT review.
