Before you start a blog you should already have decided what your blog is going to be about. Once you are set on your topic, you should do some research online about your selected topic so that you know as much as possible about your niche. It is not recommended that you write about something that people are not interested in. Don't start writing a blog about a topic that you know very little about because that will take you down the road to failure.

It is also recommended that you start one blog and give it 100% of your effort and not start three blogs and do them all half-assed.

At the end of everyday make a list of five or ten things that you are planning on doing the following day, one of which should be to write on your blog. This is a good habit to get into because it will help you get focus. People without goals end up wherever life leads the, but people with goals and purpose go in the direction that they want to go.

At night when you go to bed think about your blog and what you plan on writing about tomorrow. Program that in your mind and make it a habit. Work towards the goals that you set and you will get there one day at a time.

If you have a niche and have run out of ideas search Google for forums on your subject. Find out what interests people about that topic and write about that.

Keep in mind that for a blog to start being successful, you have to dedicate a minimum of three months and sometimes even more to get it a respectable amount of traffic. If after let's say six months your blog does not take off you can either continue or start a new blog with a new topic.

The effort that you put into your blog the past three months was not a waste of time but valuable experience that you can use. You can compile all of the information that you have on your current blog and make an eBook out of it and give it away free to people who will subscribe to your next blog. Use your imagination because the opportunities are limitless. The more original your thinking, the better your chances of reaching your goals with of course hard work and determination.

Remember to never give up, just recalculate and continue going. There are people on the Internet who are not as smart as you or I who are making lots of money...but they are also providing great content.
