Neil Patrick Harris plans to 'jump through hoops' to make the 2013 Tony Awards tonight (09.06.13) the most entertaining yet and says the show will have a lot of 'fun surprises.'

Neil Patrick Harris plans to ''jump through hoops'' to make the 2013 Tony Awards tonight (09.06.13) the most entertaining yet.

The 'How I Met Your Mother' star, who is presenting the ceremony at New York City's Radio City Music Hall for the fourth time, urged fans to tune into the 67th annual show, which recognises excellence in Broadway theatre, because there will be a lot of ''fun surprises.''

The 39-year-old actor expressed his excitement ahead of the awards on Twitter on Saturday (08.06.13), writing: ''Please watch @TheTonyAwards tomorrow. Everyone works so hard on Broadway. I'm jumping through hoops to assure a good night. #OneDayMore''

He also told CBS news: ''It'll be bigger than last year. Without spoiling anything, we have some fun surprises throughout the show really. But beyond what I do, the show is really about getting to watch all of the shows that are currently performing on the Big White Way. And so uh [catches himself]...the Big White Way? It's something like that. It's big, it's great and it's white. So we're excited to be watching all of Broadway this year.''






Kinky Boots', which features the music of pop singer Cyndi Lauper, leads the nominations and is up for 13 awards, including top musical.

'Matilda', which follows a 5-year-old girl who discovers she has telekinetic abilities, is nominated in 12 categories, while two-time Oscar winner and 'Lucky Guy' star Tom Hanks is up for his first Tony in the lead-actor category.
