Bank Negara Issues Commemorative Coins In Conjunction With National Museum's 50th Anniversdary
KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 31 (Bernama) -- Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) has issued three types of commemorative coins in conjunction with the 50th anniversary of the National Museum.
In a statement here Saturday, the central bank said the coins were produced in three specifications, namely, gold, silver and Nordic gold.
The gold commemorative coin is made of gold with 999.9 purity, has a face value of RM100 and will be sold at RM1,800 a piece with the mintage quantity at only 500 pieces.
The silver commemorative coin, with 92.5 purity, has a face value of RM10 and is sold for RM150 a piece. The mintage quantity is 1,000 pieces.
The Nordic gold commemorative coin, with mintage quantity of 25,000 pieces, has a face of RM1 and is sold at RM10 a piece.
The commemorative coins are also available in a set of three, comprising a gold coin, a silver coin and a Nordic coin, and can be bought for RM2,000 a set. There will be only 500 sets available.
These commemorative coins are minted and distributed by BNM and will be available from this Monday at its Museum and art Gallery and regional offices in Penang and Johor, as well as its branch offices in Kuala Terengganu, Kota Kinabalu and Kuching.
